The primary objective of the project was to stabilize the terrain and construct a gabion retaining wall on a plot requiring exceptional technical execution. Work Performed on the Project

1. Large-Scale Excavation and Site Organization

The initial step involved large-scale excavation of the terrain despite the confined space and limited access to the plot. Precise planning was crucial to ensure the safe and efficient execution of works. Excavated material was systematically removed from the site to maintain an uninterrupted workflow. This included coordinated transport and disposal of materials to keep the site functional even under constrained conditions.

2. Foundation Preparation for the Retaining Wall

The construction of the retaining wall required meticulous foundation preparation. Trench and footing excavations were carried out with exceptional care to ensure the structure’s long-term stability. The foundations were designed and executed to support massive gabions, critical for the wall’s durability.

3. Gabion Retaining Wall Construction

The centerpiece of the project was the construction of the retaining wall. Standing 5 meters tall and spanning over 40 meters in length, the wall was constructed using gabions – mesh baskets filled with stone, each weighing approximately 1.5 tons. This type of retaining wall is highly stable and well-suited to challenging terrains like this.

A 24-ton crawler excavator was used to position the gabions. Operating such heavy machinery on steep terrain required experienced operators and precise coordination. Each gabion was carefully transported and placed in its designated position, achieving maximum stability and durability for the wall. Beyond its structural purpose, the wall serves as a visually appealing solution that integrates seamlessly with the surrounding environment.

4. Terrain Stabilization and Safety Measures

The final phase involved stabilizing the entire terrain to ensure the safety of construction personnel and end users. All works adhered to the highest safety standards and technical guidelines, ensuring top-quality execution. The steep terrain configuration necessitated additional precautions throughout the process, and our skilled operators demonstrated a high level of expertise in performing under such conditions.
